Broken Burial Contract?
The relatives of a deceased Hmong woman are suing a California cemetery for breach of contract. They allege that they were sold a burial plot that “already contained rusty casket handles” and human remains. Although the allegations, if true, would be disturbing no matter what the context, in the Hmong cultural tradition, improper burial could also stall deceased’s journey to the spirit world.
