Carmaker, dealer split

Rover Britain’s MG Rover automobile group has announced that it is terminating its direct car supply contract with Virgin Motors for an unspecified breach of contract.  Virgin Motors, part of the giant Virgin Atlantic empire, is a big Internet-based car dealer.

Only a week ago Virgin announced a £100 million deal with MG Rover, saying it expected to sell 1,000 cars a week on its automobile web site.
