The Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong has commenced a major
expansion and recruitment iniative.

As one aspect, the Faculty is seeking to recruit academics with expertise
in various areas of commercial and private law (broadly defined) to build
upon its current strengths in these areas, including supporting the activities
of the Faculty's Asian Institute of International Financial Law (AIIFL).

Positions to be filled include the Faculty's first Chair in Commercial Law and
first Chair in Private Law.

      should be able to provide strong academic leadership in the
      field of commercial and corporate law, promote and develop
      the Faculty's existing research strengths in these fields,
      and foster research collaborations and initiatives in Hong
      Kong and regionally.
 
      SALARY/BENEFITS:

      Starting annual salary for a Chair will be within the
      professorial range, the minimum of which is circa HK$1.1M
      (approximately US$1 = HK$7.8) (subject to review from time
      to time at the entire discretion of the University). The
      appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and
      University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme,
      totalling up to 15 percent of basic salary.

      At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 16 percent
      of gross income. The appointment carries leave, medical and
