It's fun--and often justifiable--to hate insurance companies, but no insurance company has ever refused care to any insured. All the insurer can refuse to do is pay for the care. It is the "care provider" who refuses to help unless he gets paid. But it's easier to be mad at the faceless insurance company than at the Marcus Welby look-alike who sure wants to help, but can't do a thing until he knows he'll get paid.
