Yale Law Student Wins North American Poker Tour Main Event
A belated congratulations to Vanessa Selbst, Yale law student and winner of the NAPT Mohegan Sun main event (outlasting 715 other players for a cool $750K). In addition to making tuition payments a lot easier for herself, Vanessa has also added to poker's Year of the Woman. Perhaps one of the most interesting side stories out of that phenomenon is Liv Boeree "shocking Italy with a female champion."
On a related note, Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan is apparently at least as much of a poker enthusiast as President Obama. Can legalized internet poker really be that far behind?
