Political Arbitrage
Business is focusing on the election and guessing that a very liberal Democratic will win the White House and that Democrats will control both houses of Congress. Politics will change and business parameters will change. We will see higher investment taxes and we will see stricter anti-trust enforcement. So better now and November expect some blockbuster cash deals -- consolidating market power with an unusual frequency of taxable versus tax free structures. Some have come already. There will be more -- political arbitrage.

DOES THIS GET YOUR ATTENTION?
“In his second week in office George W. Bush created the task force, officially known as the National Energy Policy Development Group (NEPDG) with Dick Cheney as chairman. This group was supposed to develop an energy policy for the Bush administration. With both Bush and Cheney coming from the energy industry, which had contributed heavily to their campaign, and with the group proceeding in extreme secrecy,”
“Most of the activities of the Energy Task Force had not been disclosed to the public, even though Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests (since 19 April 2001) have sought to gain access to its materials.” From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Prices at the gas pump have jumped 104 percent from $1.47 per gallon in January 2001 to $3.00 today, with prices rising by 40 cents in four weeks this spring. The price for a barrel of oil has more than doubled during the Bush Administration from $30.63 in January 2001 to $73.87 today. (Energy Information Administration, Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update 7/24/06)
These individuals will not be satisfied until gasoline prices level out at or above $5.00/gal., these are the same fools who want to elect a GWB clone and continue these same policies, same procedures, with the same people benefiting. I am neither Republican or Democrat, what I am is a deeply concerned Independant.
