"The Flag is Up" - Same Sex Married Couple Files Chapter 13 in Los Angeles.
Financially distressed same-sex CA married couple goes straight into bankruptcy by filing a joint Chapter 13 petition in the Los Angeles Division of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, on February 24, 2011.

I filed for a same sex couple earlier this year in the Southern District called In Re Foti. The US Trustee's office attempted to convince me to dismiss one and refile. I told her no for reasons based on DOMA and a 9th Circuit case out of Washington called In Re Kandu. The US Trustee's office has yet to take action, and I doubt they will after the DOJ's recent position, but if they do, my clients are ready for what I hope to be a great fight.
