Self-Help Desk in San Fernando Valley Receives Funding for Another Year

The Self-Help Desk, spearheaded by Judge Maureen Tighe and Chancela Al-Mansour, has announced that it has received funding of roughly double the amount as last year to allow it to continue the great work in did in its inaugural year.  The desk is open every Monday from 1 to 3pm at the bankruptcy courthouse in Woodland Hills.  It is staffed by a great paralegal from Neighborhood Legal Services of LA County, Angelica Carrillo, and a rotating volunteer attorney.  Forms can be obtained at the desk and general information to help persons wend their way through the bankruptcy maze.
