European Commission Reportedly Set to Approve US/AMR Merger

Reuters is reporting that the European Commission will not block the proposed merger between American Airlines and US airways. The Commission is expected to formally announce its decision next week. The news is not a surprise. The linked article mentions that the carriers are surrendering slots at Heathrow and Philadelphia International Airport, filling in some details about the concessions the carriers offered EU regulators earlier this month.
