Josh Wright is the Right Person for the FTC Commissioner spot

I was out yesterday giving a talk and traveling this morning so forgive me for my tardy response on Josh Wright's nomination to become an FTC Commissioner. What I like about Josh:

1. He is a nice guy
2. He knows antitrust
3. His writing on vertical restraints is very good
4. He is cautious about enforcement but is receptive to empirical work that challenges his assumptions
5. Because he has worked at the FTC before in different capacities and is active as a consultant, he has a sense of the institutional environment of antitrust
6. Josh has great skill in his ability to sell antitrust ideas at the "retail" level via his blog posts
