Josh Wright is the Right Person for the FTC Commissioner spot
Posted by D. Daniel Sokol
I was out yesterday giving a talk and traveling this morning so forgive me for my tardy response on Josh Wright's nomination to become an FTC Commissioner. What I like about Josh:
- He is a nice guy
- He knows antitrust
- His writing on vertical restraints is very good
- He is cautious about enforcement but is receptive to empirical work that challenges his assumptions
- Because he has worked at the FTC before in different capacities and is active as a consultant, he has a sense of the institutional environment of antitrust
- Josh has great skill in his ability to sell antitrust ideas at the "retail" level via his blog posts
