Who Will Be the Fifth Commissioner?

Posted by D. Daniel Sokol

For those of you who watch the best drama on television, you were captivated over the past year as you tried to figure out who was the fifth cylon on Battlestar Galactica.  With the new FTC Chairman designated, the next big question is who will be the fifth commissioner.  I will include a number of names below but would love for readers to suggest who might be likely picks.  I am assuming that the next Commissioner will have an antitrust or consumer protection background and will not be a political hack.  This assumption may be incorrect.

My shortlist of potential picks who seem plausible (alphabetical order):
Bill Baer (Arnold & Porter)
Jonathan Baker (American University)
Jodi Bernstein (Bryan Cave)
Sue Creighton (Wilson Sonsini)
Jan McDavid (Hogan & Hartson)
Leslie Overton (Jones Day)

In the comments please add names of those who have a potential shot (e.g., please do not pick my almost four year old daughter, as she has as much chance of being named as the Easter Bunny).

Why not a young progressive antitrust law professor from the University of Florida that might bring fresh ideas and real action to the FTC?
