Federal Contractor Violations

The GAO in Sept. 2010 issued a report on federal contractor violations, here. Many corporations rely on governmental contractors and if they loose their contract because they violated a law, such as the National Labor Relations Act, perhaps less contractors will violate the law. My guess is that is where the Obama Administration is heading.

Greater enforcement of the federal contractors' obligations under section 503 would be a very welcome development. Federal contractors have the duty to undertake affirmative efforts to hire people with disabilities under section 503. Since the nation's largest employers are federal contractors, more hiring on their part could have a big positive impact on employment of disabled individuals.
