Surprise, Surprise 95% of Law Professors Support Obama

Everyone, well almost everyone, knows that law professors are bye and large liberal and left of center. The picture of a law professor as a lefty becomes clearer and clearer the more law review articles one reads. Up until now, it has been hard to quantify that law profs are largely liberal and largely support the Democrats.

However, TaxProf Blog has an important September 10, 2008 story about how almost 95% of the law professors who contributed money, contributed to Obama. 95%, that number is huge and says it all.

In fairness, this year we have a former law lecturer (Obama) and a current adjunct law prof (Biden) running against two non-lawyers. This may be one reason why the numbers favor Obama so highly. However, even if two law profs were not running, I suspect that the numbers of law profs supporting the Democrates would still highly tilt in favor of the democrats.

How do you feel about him never publishing anything in the field?
I view that as quite significant.
